There are many "beta replacement packs"(including a few stillborn projects on moddb who want(ed) to create the "original beta story") out there that promise the ultimate beta atmosphere, but they are just skins and character, prop or weapon models, maybe a few sounds too, but there is nothing (stable) out there that gives you this "early,-green,-polluted-and-depressing feeling".

Hello everyone! Today, it's time for another recreation of the very early Half-Life 2 beta/leak/rtb stuff. ↺3 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (WiiU) To create shortcuts to your favorite games! Join us! It contained a large amount of the mapping work that had been done for HL2 since 1998, featuring the ideas for the game that got cut throughout the prior five years of its development. Yes, a few ideas were cut between then and release - but nothing bigger than some puzzles or sections of maps that weren't fun.īut the leak didn't just include the then-current build of HL2 - among other things, something called the WC Mappack was released. The difference was that it was unfinished: levels were unbalanced and untextured, and there were bugs and temporary assets all over the place. The version of Half-Life 2 that leaked had the stucture and ideas that ended up in the final product already in place: the plot of the game was there, and the overall design of the maps were coming together. That's not enough time for drastic design changes to be made. The leak occured in October 2003 - 13 months before the game released. Question is, what would've HL2 turned out like if the beta didn't get leaked?
